SILVER YOGA

Silver and community Yoga are wonderful and gentle classes for over 50 bringing together the benefit of Yoga and Pranayama with a great element of community.

Yoga holds a key to aging well — benefits that include reducing heart rate and blood pressure, relieving anxiety and depression, improving circulation, easing back pain, and building strength and balance.

Yoga principles help creating a strong link between the mind and body,” Mindfulness” which is essential when maintaining a healthy lifestyle and independent daily routine.

From stretching & strengthening key muscle groups to ensuring balance while standing, walking, sitting, or rising; to mindful breathing aiding in mental and physical relief from stress that can build up in the body, inhibiting movement, breathing, and cognition.

Yoga classes help the over 50s by providing elasticity to the spine, firming up the skin, removing tension from the body, strengthening their core and improve the quality of muscle tone and encourage dynamic alignment .

Everyone over the age of 50 is welcome !

No previous experience is required,

Just an open mind and a open heart .

CHAIR YOGA

GROUP CLASSES AND 1:1

If you work at a desk or spend a lot of time commuting, there’s no getting around the fact that you’re on your seat more than you’re on your feet.

Chair yoga is exactly what it sounds like—yoga poses modified for a seated position.

Although they originated as support for anyone who has limited mobility for any reason, anyone can practice yoga in a chair to stretch stiff muscles and fascia, experience relief from aches and pains, regain proper posture, help improve blood flow, and draw awareness to the breath in order to regain a sense of calm.

Almost anything you can do on your mat can be done in a chair. The following chair yoga poses can help you be creative in being active even when you’re sitting down. Practice them individually in between meetings or as a series.

Chair yoga provides the same benefits as Hatha Yoga such as building strength, flexibility, and balance, and helping reduce stress and depression. Because it is a gentle and therapeutic variation of yoga, chair yoga for seniors is often a recommended form of exercise, as chair yoga puts less pressure on joints. People in wheelchairs or those with physical disabilities may also benefit from the added support chair yoga offers.
